The Surigao Education Center College of Maritime Education Naval ROTC cadets participated in the Walk for Peace activity in this historic event to help relive the valor and commitment of the soldiers of war that led to the end of World War II in a naval battle and won here at our very own Surigao Strait.
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing 4th year level organized an annual Nursing Leadership and Management Seminar with the theme “Managing Difference: Building Better Relationship at Work and Home” with the supervision of the clinical instructors of the College of Allied Medical Science (CAMS) held at the Audio Visual Room, 3rd floor last October 14, 2015.
The keynote speaker of the event was Mrs. Nanette D. Sunico-Del Rosario, RN, MAN wherein she emphasized openness in communication, sensitivity, patience and open-mindedness in building a better relationship between colleagues at work and among family members. She further pointed out that in conflict, the one who apologizes is the bravest while the one who forgives is considered the strongest. These all creates harmonious relationship among individuals.
After the open forum, the speaker and the participants were given a certificate of participation. Ms. Janine Erica Casurra, 4th year nursing student gave her closing remarks to formally end the program.
“Developing Community Awareness as a Whole” was the theme during the culmination day of the batch “Servedarus” in their Community Health Nursing last October 12, 2015 at the Purok Avocado, Barangay Quezon, Surigao City, Surigao del Norte. The program was headed by their clinical instructor, Mrs. Rejean A. Gerona, RN, MAN and was participated by the nursing faculty, thereby putting flying colors to the eyes of the community people as they ended the program.
It was hosted by Mrs. Gena Oyao and was opened by a prayer led by Mr. Xander Laid and the singing of the national anthem conducted by Ms. Nel Marison Ensomo. Words of wisdom was given by Mrs. Teresita P. Adobas, RN, MN. She uttered about the administration’s goals in helping the community people of the recipient barangay. Hon. Nelson Pacomeos, Brgy. Councilor gave his warm welcome message to everyone.
After the snacks, the batch had the presentation for their community project which was the water pump designed to help people in providing convenience in terms of their source of water supply.
There were also intermission numbers presented by the students and community people. Indeed, presenters really entertained all the audiences with their satisfactory performance. The program was formally ended by Mr. Cedric Josh Kaimo with a closing remark.
Surigao Education Center celebrated the World Teacher’s Day last October 05, 2015 held at SEC Amphitheater. The celebration was graced by a Holy Mass in the morning, presided by Rev. Fr. Carlito Tiu, DCS. One of the outstanding parts of the celebration was the giving of awards to Meritorious Teachers who obtained the cut-off points from the Criteria set by the Management. The afternoon Program was participated by all teachers in the College and Basic Education Departments. Each department showcased a presentation performed by selected students and pupils for their teachers. They rocked the whole Amphitheater, indeed! Congratulations to our teachers and may you continue your passion to teach your students to become globally competitive professionals!
